i was at South Station on Saturday night, 11pm-ish. There was a HUGE fight between like 10 young men and a security guard. Chairs were being thrown EVERYWHERE, tables flying. Everyone in the station ran outside the doors to avoid getting caught up in it.

MANY of us calling 911 and the 45 minutes I stayed ONE cop showed up. I saw other cops drive up the street to go after the few kids that thought running would be better than waiting, but I was shocked at how few members of law enforcement showed up!

and nothing on the news! WTF!!! i want to know what happened!

here's what i did yesterday...it took ALL day.

i bought these headbands but they needed to be covered. i tried machine sewing sleeves, but they had to be so tiny and it wasn't working.

these sleeves are all 100% cotton, handsewn right onto the headbands. i ADORE how they turned out! they'll have some wool felt flowers sewn on to them, maybe tonight?

any tips for a starter sock pattern (i do know how to knit) for whenever we get started on this?

anyone looking to buy into a coop in brooklyn?

can we knit socks together? i want to so badly, but i need motivation. after artbeat, can we schedule regular get togethers for this? PLEASE?

trying to decide if i should leave them blank or write something on them? (happy birthday, something button related, etc)

i've been hitting some roadblocks in crafting...i can see exactly how i want something in my head, i feel like i know how to accomplish it, but i can't get my head and hands to work together. i've been pretty tired lately, so maybe that's why?

my ankles are SO itchy...why can't every weekend be Camp Camping????? when it rains at camp, its no as horrible as when it rains at home.

session one of "summer camp" is sadly over, but i will put off writing about it until people who took photos post them. i've got 17 bug bites, strains in my laughing muscles, but no sunburn so its all good...

when does session two begin?

since i dont like chocolate, i've been trying to figure out different types of s'more things i could try.

i made special marshmallows the other day, and cannot wait to try them in a camping expirement this weekend!

actual Saturday night carnival trip is being planned. you KNOW you want to come down for this.*

*carnival is sure to be typical crappy carnival, but its at the beach! and there's del's! and yummy fried things!

#1: i'm wary of calling this jam, but it is basically jam...this is JUST strawberries, picked by me and Megan, simmered for about 3 hours over very low heat. I wanted to make some sort of freezer jam without adding sugar or pectin, so I looked up if it was possible. I found plenty of references to "my grandmother/father used to just sit there and stir crushed berries for hours". At midnight (3 hour mark) I put it in one little container and everything else in giant bowl to see if it would set up. I assumed I would have to cook it more today, but TADAH! i have "jam". jerry taste tested it this morning and said "THIS IS GOOD. and sweet". so, there you go...

#2: I had SOOOO much dill from my CSA, that i just HAD to make pickles. These aren't properly "canned", as I just can't be bothered. They will last 3 weeks in the fridge, from what I've read, so I will just have to eat them all (with some help, of course). Again, wasn't really sure what I was doing but the brining liquid tastes exactly like the pickle jar juice, so I'm happy. These are supposed to wait a week before eating. I'll probably try one on tuesday to see if anything needs to be added before we go camping next weekend.

if jerry weren't over 6 feet tall, i would totally get this tent for our upcoming camping fun.

i've been making hair things for fairs and magpie, and headbands are next...
